Just finished my first batch of sweet mead.

I have the same issue SWMBO loves it but I hate the look of it.

Super clear didnt work for me until i degassed now you can read through it.

Im sure that works a lot better. Spent 30-45 min on mine with a Mix-Stir I just cant talk the wife into a 150+ dollar vacuum pump right now

Well your not alone. Like I said I am new to mead and wine. Every one forgets to mention the degassing. After 2 days mine is now clear enough to read through.

I just started with wine/mead making. The first is a sweet mead 8lbs of local honey in a 3 gallon batch and wyeast sweet mead. I used a local HBS's recipe. The second is a strawberry melomel that I should have paid a lot more attention to and used better honey

I just did a 3 gallon batch of sweet mead and had a similar problem. Used super clear and it still did not clear. Long story short after a 45 min degassing session it is cleared nicely. P.S. very new to wine/mead making this was my first batch. I am in no way shape or form qualified to...
