    Fermentation Refrigerator

Thanks a lot. I originally thought of a chest freezer. Do those work ok with the plug in thermostats? I read on one of websites that makes them that they recommend not using them with freezers because if it malfunctioned it could freeze everything.

    Fermentation Refrigerator

I just moved from an apartment to a house. I can now brew at my own home... As soon as I get a fermentation refrigerator. I have a 6 gallon carboy that I want to fit in it. Right now there is a 4.4 cubic foot kenmore on craigslist for $80 or best offer. Will this be good for me? I'd also love...

    Electric Burners

Unfortunately I don't have a washer and dryer. My stove is electric but it is old and won't even boil 3 gallons.

    Winter Brewing

What about electric burners? I've been checking out a few. I see induction can boil a good amount. Do they use more then a normal plug?

    Electric Burners

My brewing situation isn't ideal. I'm in a third floor apartment with a weak electric stove. In the warmer months I've been brewing outdoors on my propane burner at friends houses. Now due to winter and being unable to brew at friends house for a while, I'm looking into moving indoors with...

    Size of boil.

I have been doing extract batches with specialty grains. I have been doing a 6 gal boil and it boils down to 4.74-5 gal. I've seen some home brewers starting at 6.5 gal and ending with 5-5.25 gal. My question is, is there any advantage to the 6.5 gal boil besides more beer at the end? And are...

    Dark vs Light LME

That's good to know. Thanks. I'm doing a full boil. 6 gal boiled down to about 5.

    Dark vs Light LME

I'm working on a stout as well, I have always used one dark and one golden LME. I just figured you used it cause it's a dark beer. So with what you are all saying I can use all golden and just use my specialty grains for color? Would that give it more consistancey?

    Brewing with spices

I'm brewing an Eggnog Stout in a few days, I have never brewed with spices before. I have cinnamon sticks, ground nutmeg, and vanilla beans. I was planning on adding them towards, the end of the boil (maybe 20 min). I've been told that it is good to add them at the whirlpool, but am unsure where...

    Winter Brewing

I assume you use propane. Do you ever have issues with it that cold? Like does it blow out easy or anything?

    Transporting wort

I don't have a good place to brew but my place has perfect temps for fermentation. I brew at a friends about 40 minutes away. What I'm wondering is, if I brew at this friends house and transport the wort to my place should I move it there before I pitch the yeast or is it ok to move it right...
