    New to brewing RO water

I also just started brewing with RO water and I'm not much for recurring subscription costs. So I too use Bru'n Water from Martin. I find that it can be overwhelming at first but with the information that Martin has in the spreadsheet and the FAQ page on his website, it's rather simple. Every...

Is This B a Good Choice for BIAB?

I suppose I'm an outcast using The Brew Bag - I didn't know about the wilser bag until I came to the forum, whoops. I will say that The Brew Bag is a little hard to clean sometimes but that's due to me being careless and using the bag inside-out at times. I can get quite anxious/excited during...

    BIAB in Keggle 10 gallon

Here are pictures of my setup. False bottom #1 for keeping bag off of the element - did without this for a while until I tried a step mash and burned my bag. False bottom #2 is for keeping hop debris out of fermenter.

Buy a grain mill, they say. Think of the money you’ll save, they say.

I’ve heard mice like the containers more than the malts!

    BIAB in Keggle 10 gallon

I cut the top of mine as a test then cut the bottom off another to use the keggle dip tube opening as the center bottom drain. I really like having it this way.

    BIAB in Keggle 10 gallon

I got tired of struggling to get my BIAB bag through the top of my keggle and cut the whole top off mine. Easier for BIAB and cleaning. Just bought the 1/4" ratchet system from you Wilser - thanks!

Starting Over... Been A Long Time...

Welcome back! Hope you saved some of your equipment but maybe upgrading isn't such a bad idea.

I would like being your neighbor since you basically have a homebrew store, as far as grains go, in your garage. I can see having multiple big containers for the spontaneous brew day when the homebrew store is closed. Like having a 50lb container for 2Row but then sometimes you want Marris Otter...

What do you use when you squeeze BIAB?

I mashout at 170° and use a ratchet strap to raise the bag up where it's hovering over the kettle, then let it drain for a bit while I adjust my panel to start boiling. Use gloves to squeeze the bag every few minutes until I'm almost at a boil, then pull the bag down and let it sit in the...

New to HomebrewTalk from Houston, TX

Howdy y'all, Been homebrewing since Easter of 2019. I am a part of the Bay Area Mashtronauts local homebrew club. My system consists of a BIAB keggle bottom drain, Grounded Brewtech panel, and 2 counterflow chillers tubed in series. My fermentation chamber is just an old top/bottom...
