    Anyone Mix LalBrew Dry Yeasts?

Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated. I do like both New England and Verdant and have often found 6 packs of New England that fit the 2 pack pitch rate. With at least 1 positive feedback I'll likely give the mixed yeast a shot and see how i enjoy the combination. Yes - a good sized Citra...

    Anyone Mix LalBrew Dry Yeasts?

Been brewing a bit over a year - and have enjoyed both Verdant and New England dry yeasts for NEIPA's; since I have a 5 pack of New England that has a pitch rate of 2X11 grams I'm wondering on thoughts of combining in one of my batches using Verdant that pitches at 1X11 grams. I've never used...

    1/2 Ball Lock QD recommendation

Any recommendations for QD for kettle Ball Lock? I purchased on Amazon a Dernord QD and it failed after about 6-7 uses. Figures a one time event and purchased another that failed after 2 uses (leaks from the QD seal. Looking for member recommendations on a brand. Terry

    Anyone using BrewBuilt Kettles?

I want to move from my 10 Gallon to a 15 gallon kettle and have not found anything on Facebook marletplace in my area the last few months. I see the BrewBuilt 15 gallon with tri-clamp/Ball valve on sale at More Beer for $214.49 (shows $329/49 as regular price). Anyone have any experience on...

Who crushes/grinds their Hops (Dry Hop)

Wondering who grinds their Dry hops? I have been using Cold (45-50 F) and short (48 hours) for final dry hop and am very pleased with both Aroma and Taste. I am using an All Rounder with fully closed fermentation and Transfer (Hop Bong attachment for Dry Hop additions). My last batch I did try...

    What are you drinking now?

I'll pass on the meth --HB is good enough for me :) Only had one dinner in London and of course had to choose a pub and try authentic Fish-n-Chips (a good meal with a few drafts!). Can't recall the pub but did enjoy that traditional meal.

    What are you drinking now?

Used to make frequent trips (4 a year) to Montreal to visit our outsourcing partner CGI and always enjoyed my share of Rickards Red while enjoying the trip. The food and drink in Montreal was always outstanding and Rickards on tap was a joy.

Frozen Keg - What should I expect now?

Just found and read this thread (2 frozen commercial kegs! Need advice) - seems like I should be OKAY after verifying seals post thaw. Hopeful this is OK as I was really excited with the sample I tasted after kegging.

Frozen Keg - What should I expect now?

I kegged my latest batch on Thursday and today (Sat) I went to slap on a label and noticed the keg was frozen (I had forgotten to attach Inkbird temp probe when I put keg into freezer post transfer). The freezer would have been on full cooling for 48 hours (so frozen). I don't see any discharge...

    Amarillo + Citra + Simcoe = GROSS

I like Nelson in my Whirlpool and again in first dry hop at the beginning of fermentation; then followed by a ton of Citra in the post fermentation dry hop.

Strange Tilt Readings - anyone else ever experience this?

Thanks. I do see movement (down) as fermentation has kicked in. I don't believe the gravity was ever near the 1.084 (1.070 is what i logged with hydrometer and test tube). But I do clearly see the Tilt tracking to what fermentation I'm seeing now. FYI - no starter (Verdant dry yeast) or top off...

Strange Tilt Readings - anyone else ever experience this?

Thanks - and yes the real reason I purchased was to determine when fermentation is finished - a final true reading from the finished beer will get actual FG.

Strange Tilt Readings - anyone else ever experience this?

I am brewing my first batch using a Tilt Hydrometer. About 3rd brew totally closed process with my All Rounder; first few I "eyed" the fermentation process and timeline but got the Tilt to have a clear idea when fermentation was over. See picture - the temperature is matching what my Inkbird...

    Amarillo Rhizomes

Very old post but I just saw now (Hops Direct) - no longer has Amarillo but I just bought 3 pounds of Citra (also or still $13.50). Not thrilled about 5 day USPS - but I am looking forward to the shipment. An outstanding price if these are as I am anticipating - if not only $50 total with shipping.

    What are you drinking now?

Drunk Dog #7 - I think I really nailed this one (tweak #7 on my NEIPA). I just kegged this morning and the picture is from a pint directly from my All Rounder that did not make it to the keg. Totally closed process - All Rounder with the Hop Bong setup. Fermented with minimal pressure (1-2 PSI)...
