Well, it was my first time using them, so I have to go by my first impressions. It tasted a little melony to me. Milder then I expected I guess. Seems like a good compliment to hte mead. Boiling didn't really seem to effect the flavor at all.

So I went to a farm the other day and pressed a gallon of cider from some apples. I've made beer and mead so I figured I might as well ferment this guy out and see what it's like.

I started with beer and mead is extremely easy to make compared to even extract brewing. You don't have to boil anything except the water if you want to be extra safe and the hardest part is just the patience.
