    Man, I love Apfelwein

So I had some people over and had people taste my apfelwein. Everyone loved it! However, one of the girls wanted to know the caloric content of the drink and I told her I'd ask you guys. How many calories would you all estimate this at per fluid oz?

    Fermentation temp

I just realized that I have a digital controller I can use for a fridge. I could store the carboy in a fridge. Do you guys know of a good fridge that would fit a 5-6gallon carboy with an airlock on top that's pretty cheap?

    Fermentation temp

Hey guys, I've been trying to diagnose my issues with bad tasting beer. Water left to sit alone in the room is about 72 degrees. However, I just took the temperature of the wort in my fermenter (bubbling away quite merrily). It's 82-83 degrees. This is above the recommended temperature for the...

    Brown Ale Suggestions

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I am beginning to think that I may have scorched the malt extract when I added it. I just sampled a bit of my second batch (a honey wheat) and it has the same characteristic flavor. It is a lot less noticeable, though, so maybe I will be able to drink it. My...

    Brown Ale Suggestions

Hey guys, I brewed a brown last month and was extremely disappointed with the results. The beer was completely undrinkable. It ended up with a strong dark burned taste that wasn't at all pleasant. It was an extract beer with 5 pounds of Amber DME as well as about a pound of specialty grains...

    Flying to Boston

The bar in Kenmore that is owned by the same owner as Bukowski's is called The Lower Depths and it is fairly good. I've been there quite a few times. Usually 12 beers on tap plus about 80-90 beers in bottles. If you're looking for another decent brewpub, the Cambridge Brewing Company is in...

    You're no longer a n00b when...

Some of these are particularly snobby. Getting upset when people don't know the difference between ale and lager? Please. Perhaps we should not be so full of ourselves? We want people to get into homebrewing, not to hate us.

    yo.

Hey everyone, This is my first post but I've been a lurker for some time. I've done some partial mash brews and I have a brown and a honey wheat in the fermenters right now. I was introduced to you all by a friend who was brewing EdWort's Apfelwein and I have one of those in a carboy as well...

How many gallons of EdWort's Apfelwein have been made?

I'm new to this forum, but I was motivated by the original Apfelwein thread to brew my own. 5 gallons in a glass carboy, just started bubbling this morning. 1712.5+5 = 1717.5
