    What was your first brew?

    I still haven't brewed my first batch...i have finally pieced together all the equipment needed, but am now too broke to buy a kit to brew. :( LMAO. In the mean time, i'm building a fermentation chamber and stir plate from spare parts i have in the shop.

    Using chalkboard paint on a kegerator

    i did 4 coats onthe jeep. i used regular grey automotive primer. it never scratched deep enough for the primer to show.

    I found the chalkboard paint to be quite resilient...I painted a jeep that I would take off roading, and the paint held up very well...but I layed it on really thick, I think i used something like 15 cans of the stuff. I never had a problem with it scratching.

    hmmm...hadn't thought about a lightbulb...that saves me even more money. LOL. I have a light setup i can use in this thing. so when its all said and done, i'm going to have a fermentation chamber for the price of a temp. controler. :D

    its going in the garage. only incandescent light in there, and it won't be anywhere near sunlight...so i think i will be ok if/when i decide to ferment in carboys.
