When you add a significant amount of rice hulls to your mash, do you need to take that into account when calculating your water to grist ratio? For example: (5 lbs 2-row, 5 lbs wheat malt, .5 lb rice hulls) would that be 10 or 10.5 lbs plugged into the equation?
This will happen to me when I ferment with WLP029. I started using a blow off tube after my first explosion and now I use it for all of my fermentations, just in case.
You could always dry hop with a different hop or pitch a different yeast to give it you own twist, if you have any lying around. Fruit would be interesting, kind of like Dogfish Head's Aprihop.
I love mine, heats 6+ gallons of wort to boiling in about 15 minutes and keeps it rolling with minimal propane. I usually get about 5 brews out of a normal grill propane tank. It'll also fit a keggle if you plan on upgrading.
I wanted to do this with my kegerator so I can put in a flat dry erase board on the door. Was the inside of the door easy to remove? Do you have any pics?
