New brewer jumping straight from bottling to kegging. I have read that you can condition a keg just like you do in bottles instead of force carbonating. How effective is this does it create enough carbonation that I could hook up a picnic tap and just pour straight from the keg?
BigFloyd its an American Pale Ale and I am fermenting it at 66 degrees

Yes I have an autosyphon, but my airlock is a one piece airlock that has a lid on top wont opening that run the risk of infection in the beer?
So what do I do? I work from 7 to 7 so I can't make it to my local homebrew store to get a blow off tube and I don't want it to keep spilling...... How do I get the Kruessen out without risking infection.
Made my second batch of beer Sunday and my roommate just got home from work and sent me this picture. We did have a mistake and watered our beer down too much and had a lower OG than anticipated but I'm sure that's not it.
What did I do wrong and is there any hope of savior?
I just bottled my first homebrew on Sunday and I decided to give it a try pre carbonation and to my surprise it was very good and really enjoyable......
As we were bottling after we added the priming sugar water for bottle carbonation we wound up having a little extra so I poured that into a...
We are just gonna bottle it on Saturday or Sunday.
It was our first brewing experience and was very trial and error to find our weaknesses and mistakes. We are going to immediately go into making a second beer the same day we do the bottling. Then we are gonna let that ferment for a full two...
I fermented at 65 degrees. Our instructions said to stay between 60-70 degrees.
This is the first beer I have ever made so I am still over-worrying about things since this is a big learning experience.
Well we made it on Sunday night and it started bubbling Monday morning. I went and checked on it that night after work and it was really cool being able to see the yeast actually releasing the CO2. But as of around noon today it stopped bubbling and I couldn't see any movement of co2 being...
I am working on my first batch ever. Currently I have my 5 gallon batch in my fermenter as of about 5 minutes ago and am wondering how long does it normally take before you see bubbling in your air lock?
I'm working on making my first batch and have found myself with two questions.
1) in the airlock I have heard that some people use vodka or sanitizer in place of water. Does this make a difference? And how high do I fill the airlock?
Thanks everybody. Yes the bucket is 7 gallons but its meant for 5 gallon batches so it is only marked up to 5. The first batch if beer I am making is a English Bitter. The guy who worked at the homebrew shop I went to recommended it as a good starter brew.
I think I am going to use the carboy...
Okay so yesterday a few friends and myself went out and bought the most expensive and all inclusive beginners beer kit we could find. It came with stuff we can't even identify. Unfortunately what it didn't come with we're instructions.
Inside there were two 5 gallon buckets. One was a regular 5...
