    what to stick with

I make my labels with photoshop, print & cut out, spray them with hairspray & attach to bottles with prit-stik. The hairspray stops the ink running. Works well for me. :tank:

    Recipe

The best cider I've tasted is made from cartons of pure apple juice i.e 5 ltr of cartons = 1 gallon cider or 25 ltr of cartons = 40 pints. Just add yeast and that's it! abv about 6.5%

Clove & Ginger Wine not clearing

My clove & ginger wine has been racked once, has thrown a second deposit and stopped fermenting. But it is still so hazy I don't want to rack again until I find out how to clear it. Do I add pectolase when I rack for the second time? do I add fining gel now then rack in a couple of days? or...

    John Bull Beer Kit

I make 3 john bull 5 gallon kits quite often, jb brown ale, country cider & stout and they are very tasty although my favourite beer kit is also one of the cheapest at mt local hbs "Brewmaker Bitter" it costs 15 pence a pint and the flavour & deep brown colour is fantastic. Beer Fining

I recently used beer fining for the first time. I put it in the fermenter 2 days before I was due to bottle, and find out now there was not enough yeast to carbonate the bottled brew. I am going to use the fining gel on Sunday but siphon the brew into a barrel this time. Should I add the fining...

    Wine Kits

I have recently started making wine though been brewing ales for a year. I have used only one brand of wine kit 'Solomon Grundy' peach, rose & cherry and they are delicious. The peach wine is my favourite. I use VWP to sterilise and find it excellent. Cheers!

    Butler Bianco Kit Exploded

You said 1300g of sugar per litre, your right, it does seem wrong. Should this not be per gallon? When I make wine from a kit (usually Solomon Grundy) I put 700g in the Gallon initially then add more for taste if required in the secondry ferment. :drunk:

    Hello From Scotland

I'll check that out, thanks to all for the warm welcome. I do have access to all sorts of brewing techniques here in UK, but I thought it best to start at the bottom and not get too far ahead of myself just yet. I'll stick around here too though. At work I'm training to be a mashman in a...

    Hello From Scotland

Hi all, I've been browsing the forum for a few days now and I like what I see. I've got my first batch of ale in 2nd and getting ready to start another. Due to good feedback on Coopers I've bought the dark ale to try. Hope to contribute to the forum in the near future. Cheers!
