Pink floyd.....last weeks brewday was Dark Side and Animals. Also love to listen to Meddle....especially Echoes. Also crank some Judas Priest and Iron Maiden from time to time.

Haaaa....Saturday must have been cursed. I had a brew day from helles too.....but i was making a wit!!! Pump wouldnt move anything through my rims system right after doughing in. I had to bail it all out and start my Wit beer again with all 2 row. It is bubbling merrily away now but what a day...

:D:DGoing to be brewing a Wit on Saturday and possibly making a hard cider. I will be fermenting in my new SS stainless brew bucket as well. I am so pumped.....i havent brewed in 8 months (super busy work sched got in my way) Cant wait

Thanks Stonebrewer, I hope it comes back...but just in case I will order another rhizome next spring. Any suggestions on a variety that grows well in Ontario?

Sorry it tookso long to reply....the hop variety is Mt Hood. My dad planted them for me so may e they were too deep. I will try again next year and plant them a little less deep. What a pain, I was hoping to use fresh hops this fall

I bought a hop rhizome in the spring and planted it in a pot. It did not take long to start growing and I transplanted it into the ground.....it started to grow but now it is gone. Any ideas what could have happened? Thanks, Eric

My wife and I went away for a long weekend on our anniversary a couple of years ago, for antiquing, winery tours and garage saling. She planned the whole trip and we stayed at a inn that had a dinner and wine pairing from one of the local vineyards......and had a great time. I am a beer drinker...

Good idea....i will be doing the same. They are expensive enough but parts aren't available in minutes when you realize you have a problem.....uswuallt when you are ready to brew.

I leave mine in an unheated garage.....you've just given me another thing to keep in mind. I might have been lucky as well that my magnet is in tact. I blow the water out of the pump after each brew session...but flood it again with strike water on the next brewday.

Okay....so I just took the whole thing apart and inspected but there was nothing broken inside (which is good). I put it back together and used a little Micro Matic pump and probe lube around the flange of the volute and low and behold.....it works great!!! The pump must have been syphoning air...

Okay, i will take it apart to see if there is anything wrong. I have had it somewhat apart and the actual impeller looks allright. Were you able to repair it or did you need to buy a new pump head?

yes.....it is always a magnificent and encouraging thing to see. Like lots of people here you will probably sit and watch it for a while too.....i always do:) Eric

I only use my hydrometer once during my brew day. I never take gravity reading of my pre boil wort so if you went that route you could take a sample (in a covered sanatized container) and check the gravity when you can get your new hydrometer. Eric
