Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

This is a drinkin’ beer for sure. Been kegged and dry-hopped (2oz cascade, 1oz mt. Hood) for only 4 days, but the “corn sweetness” that many have described and say goes away with time, along with my heavy handed hops gives it the flavor of oranges. Hard to explain, but delightful. Trying to...

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

If you want a lighter beer, I’d dilute it and add the amalayse, but I’m no expert 🍻

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

It’s still fermenting 13 days later. Very slowly, I might add! I drew a sample and as best I can tell it’s right close to 1.0. I’ve brewed plenty of big beers that were done quicker than this one😎

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

Boiled 14 gallons with 3oz of Cascade for 60 min, roughly another 3oz of Cascade at flame-out, and topped up with water to achieve 15.5 into my fermenters. Gravity into fermenters was 1.038. It was a spur of the moment kind of brew day, hopefully the 21-22 IBUs doesn't ruin it. Just didn't...

What is wrong with my local brewpubs?

Here-here!! :tank: That would certainly mask the issue, but I'm looking for ammo. My assertion is that these beers are concentrated and watered down. I raised this issue with some co-workers today and they were dismayed. Am I crazy, or are they just not as refined as I am?

What is wrong with my local brewpubs?

There are at least 3 somewhat local brewpubs. And the instant I taste their beers, I'm immediately turned off. The brew tastes watered down, dull, flat... and I'm assuming it's because they are going extreme on partial boil batches? Asking/partial ranting because I'm tired of hearing "how...

Clone Beer Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

I filled my 70qt igloo to the absolute top with an 11 gal. batch of this... freaking out, I covered it with aluminum foil and flipped the cooler lid over and put a few blankets on top of that. Can I mash it was a little off for me and my cooler. I pretty much know the limit now and hope to...

Clone Beer Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

I am doing this on Sunday, and can't decide about the coffee. Was leaning towards only doing the one addition at flameout, I guess I will just have to sample it after fermentation is complete to see if I think it needs more coffee or not :0) Not so sure about Sumatra, I really don't like the...

Specialty IPA: Rye IPA Denny Conn's Wry Smile Rye IPA

Just dumped 10.5 gallons into the fermenter. My wife asked me if she would like it, and I said "of course you will" -- poor girl... Thanks for the recipe.

Looking for recipe for Skunky Beer

Try a Peroni (some Italian beer...) I don't know if what we had was skunked, or it's just a skunky beer, but believe me - my experience with it fit the bill of skunk. Smell skunk, taste skunk, burped skunk all night long after one bottle.

    Keggle to fermenter. What works?

Are you talking about those large splatter-catcher frying pan lid things (like something you use to put over a frying pan when cooking bacon? I've been eyeballing that in the kitchen cabinet lately, and thought it might be worth trying as a hop stopper. thanks again everyone-
