hole in cooler too big for oring seal?

Yeah, the gasket was the funny one. I got that as scrap from my job. I used two of the washers on the outside, the larger diameter washer was the one resting against the cooler, and just one on the inside. Both inside and outside had gaskets cut to match the washers.

hole in cooler too big for oring seal?

I have a similar sized hole on mine. I have a female 1/2" ball valve with a 2" nipple to go through the interface. Inside the cooler I am going from the nipple to a 1/2" FPT copper fitting that's forms into a 1/2" pipe to attach to my manifold. To get a tight fit I got some food grade gasket...

    Plate Chillers

I have a Duda Diesel plate chiller too. I use a nylon bag for my pellet hops and have a sort of false bottom in my keggle with 3/32 holes that collets all the full leaf hops I use. I between the two of these I never have a problem with the plate chiller getting clogged. I push my wort with a...

I had to open up the connecting holes to allow for a tolerance, other than that it seems pretty solid.

    Beginner Welder Mistake??

If you've made your welds all the way around I wouldn't worry at all. A weld on one side with the load on the opposing side would create a stress fracture, but for your needs and loads during a brew small mig welds will hold up fine. Just remember to get them properly painted to prevent corrosion.

    Blichmann Top Tier Center Mast

Just did a dry fit-up today. I had to lower my top burner and shelf height, and my gas manifold will have to mount on to exposed threads from the burner arms. All in all a fun project. First brew next weekend!

Blichmann Top Tier burner arm mount clone.

I used 1/16 thick stainless sheet metal and copied the original completely. The center mast I used is the same as their extruded aluminum, 3.5 square.

    Blichmann Top Tier Center Mast

I'm picking up my center mast tomorrow, a 3.5"x3.5"x.125"x6' piece of mild steel. I plan to use threaded rod to pass through the tube to secure each shelf. With two burners, a large shelf for my 48L cooler, a march pump with mount, and the accessory tray for my plate chiller I think the .125"...

    Blichmann Top Tier Center Mast

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/blichmann-top-tier-burner-arm-mount-clone-390514/ The only thing I did was open the holes for the burner leg screws, the two I said were .375, and enlarged them another 1/32. You could maybe increase the bend angle another 1.5 degrees

    Blichmann Top Tier Center Mast

I made a post this past weekend with the dimensions for the arms. I had mine laser cut and it's spot on. Hopefully this helps.

Blichmann Top Tier burner arm mount clone.

So I decided to do a little project and reproduce a top tier style stand without paying the huge cost. My plan is to use something like the basement support columns you can buy at a home improvement store, along with angle iron from scrap and caster wheels bought on eBay. The rest of the...

    Best chiller

I looked around too and figured the best option was a Chillzilla, but like a cheap ass I wanted to buy one second hand. Too bad no one ever sells them. After waiting too long I went with this; http://www.dudadiesel.com/img/items/HX2340BWGH_ID1477-L.jpg The DudaDiesel B3-23A 40 plate beer wort...

    Helles Bock Midgard Maibok

Yes, it was incredibly good after another 4 months of bottle conditioning at semi-lager temps. Mine was a small batch and giving out the rest was tough. I plan on making this again soon, and I have this on the list of must-do recipes for the season.

Using pure oil from Almonds, hazelnuts, etc... How?

I meant the almonds in that I bought another container from this company of 100% pure almond oil. I've seen the extracts, which seem to be oil diluted in a alcohol mix. What I haven't read about or seen is these huge 16oz pure oil additives. I don't know if that means there's enough in one of...
