Thanks everyone. Checked it this morning and the fermentation seems to be moving along now. Plenty of activity in the airlock. Lots of helpful information here. Learn more every time I brew! When you rehydrate the yeast, is there a specific amount of time and water I should be using for the process?
Brewed a pale ale Sunday night and still not much activity in my airlock? All grain pale ale, rehydrated my yeast, pitched and aerated with a paddle at 70 degrees. Currently siting at 69 degrees. Any thoughts? Re-pitch? Shake it a bit? Take a gravity reading? Or wait it out another day or two...
Ok. Thanks for the input. All of the all grain recipes in that book call for a step mash. Must be his preference. If I were to do a single infusion, how should I determine the mash temp and time? Using software?

Thanks hmmm beer. I downloaded beer smith last night and haven't had much time to play around with it yet, but looks pretty sweet at first glance. I built a 10 gallon MT with SS false bottom and a pex sparge arm in the top for fly sparging. Looking forward to trying it out!
Hey everyone. Im new to all grain and hoping to make this my first go at it. What size batch is the ingredient list for? Also, where do you get your strike water temp, volume, and sparge water temp and pre-boil volume? Is everyone using software to get this info? Did not see it in the recipe...

The information on these forums blows my mind. Awesome. Ok, I am fairly new to brewing and very new to AG. I am preparing to start my equipment procurement and want to make the right purchases as I grow the setup. My plan is two-fold. Build initial mash tun out of ten gallon Rubbermaid. Second...
