    What's your go-to-homebrew?

I go with a pretty standard Scottish Ale for my go to. Brewed it about 4 times, very little in the way of changes in the recipe.

Favorite hop for dry hopping(pale ale)

I just brewed up "Dank Nugget IPA" and was thinking about trying out some Dry Hopping. Figured I'd stick with the hops that were used in the brewing (Nugget and Cascade) . Which of the 2 would be better for it?

    Any idea what this is?

ahh, i did have a bit of an aphid infestation earlier this year, and they have cleared up. This is probably the reason they are gone then! Thanks passedpawn!

    Hard lemonade recipe - adjustments?

i mixed up a 3 Gal batch of hard lemonade Used 5 cans lemonade concentrate, 1 lbs amber malt extract, 1 lbs sugar. Kegged it up after fermentation stopped and force carbed. Poured a glass, and the smell is too high on the Sulfer to be drinkable. The taste isn't too bad if you plug your nose...

    $16 Barleywine...

i picked up a 750ml bottle of Pelican Brewery Saison for $16 seemed pretty spendy for me.

    Help me read my hydrometer

I just got a LHBS saison kit. recipe said it should be 1.049 but i ended up with 1.060 so, I think they may have mis-weighed the Light DME they gave me... 6# instead of 5# bag probably... If you ran low, maybe stratifications issues or diluted with too much water?

    "Bready" batch

so, I have a 3 gallon batch of apfelwein going. I used the wyeast sweet mead yeast, since i had some on had. Been fermenting for about 5 weeks and is down to 1.000sg Problem is the samples i have pulled smell really bread-like. Will this go away as it ages? ?

Are you still buying commercial beer?

Oh yeah, and on occaision i will bring a corney down to the local brewery (Oakshire) and have em fill it for me. $50 is pretty good for over 5gallons of really excellent beer!

Are you still buying commercial beer?

I pick up beers when i want to try making a new style. Bought a Pelican Brewery Saison at the store (saisons seem to be hard to find!!!!!) Pretty tasty although the head was ridiculous when i poured it into a straight-sided glass. I'll be brewing my own Saison next!

    Better than Apfelwein...

i used Wyeast Sweet Mead Yeast #4184 in my 3 gallon batch. It is about ready to drink now. samples were dry and quite tasty.
