Crazy idea I had for measureing specific gravity while sparging

Hey, this thread may be on the expired side, but I'm curious. Did you guys ever get this idea tested? I would love to implement it on my Raspberry Pi controlled rig.

Single Tier, 3 Pump, BCS-462, Automated Rig

Here is a question to anybody using an electric bbq igniter. I am using the 3 probe igniter on my rig that I am building. It is controlled via Arduino -> Shift register -> Relay -> Igniter. The problem is that when the igniter is sparking, the power surge that it creates makes the shift...

Gas and Temperature Control for Dummies

No, I wouldn't use these for propane. Only liquid.

    Asco Valve

Hey all, I realize this thread is about propane valves, but it still seems like a good place to post this. I found a supplier in China for SS 1/2 NPT electric (12VDC) ball valves. Only $24 each plus shipping and wire transfer fee (which is a bit much). If anybody else is interested, we could...

    How to mount March pump?

I see that this was posted like 3 years ago, but hopefully someone is still listening... What I liked was the ss plumbing that you used. Any info about that would be most appreciated. i.e. Where do you get them, pre-fab or cut yourself, etc. I'm about to build my rig, and am leaning toward...

    Electric ball valve actuators

JonW, That's a good point. I was also considering using cheap on/off valves at the entry/exit points of the kegs to automate the flow path, and maybe a single proportional valve (automated or manual) immediately after the pump to adjust flow rate.

    Electric ball valve actuators

Yes, it sounds very simple. But you are saying the cheap-o valves that I mentioned will not work in this fashion, and I should get the Honeywell ones from Grainger. Are they able to mount on any ball valve, or only the "VC" valves that they mention in the listing? (...whatever "VC" means) I'm...

    Electric ball valve actuators

Interesting. What software achieves the “floating point” and what hardware is used to interface with the valve? It provides some PWM i'm guessing. I am in the process of finding parts to build an automated brew setup, and was considering these valves posted earler. But, I was wondering how...
