I brewed this in October last year and used wlp565 Saison I Yeast. It fermented aggressively to 1.003 but came out with a cough syrup flavor. I put both cases at the back of the fridge until last week. I am amazed at how well this beer conditioned and how amazing the flavors are. Time fixed my...
I'm in!
Edit: I'm a moron and can't follow directions... I will be drinking homebrew this weekend, no need to brew, all six fermentors are full from brewing over the past two weekends.
OP, I used US-05 for both batches of mine, I have a ton of Denny's Favorite 50 I have grown and stored, I will probably try that on the next batch... I have some Cry Havoc as well, might do a 10 gallon split/comparison batch next....
Just a follow up, I kegged two weeks ago, and finally had taps open on my kegerator. This beer is phenomenal. The malt is perfect and seems to be a great vehicle for showcasing just about any hops with a medium body and light biscuit flavors. This beer in one form or another will become a...
Sounds like some happy yeast to me. I wouldn't worry about overpitching with those results. My ZD clone actually blew through my airlock on S-04 yeast. I used one packet in 5 gallons...
I just brewed this last night, went very well and brewed v2. I didn't have any Nelson hops so I subbed in Ahtanum in ratio to keep the IBUs the same. Can't wait to try this one. Thanks OP!
Just poured my first(and second) pint of this. It is still hazy from force carbing and hopefully will clear up well. I added more spice during the boil with each hop addition. The spice level is present but thankfully not overpowering. The malt is perfect, nice body and unbelievable head...
Just made a 10 gallon batch yesterday. Had about one ounce of lemon, and had to substitute Columbus for the centennial... It tastes great in the samples, hit an OG of 1.044. Can't wait to try this, should be drinkable before the cool weather arrives...
I just made this on Saturday and hit 1.068 OG. Also used WLP0041 Pacific Ale yeast since it was past expiration and needed to be used. Made a 1L starter of it and it is fermenting crazily. It smells wonderful and I can't wait to get this one kegged! Thanks OP!
