If you transferred from fermentation vessel to keg with no oxygen it should be fine. It would also probably be fine if you got some oxygen in there but I wouldn’t risk it. The carbing in keg is a pretty smart idea as well.
It would probably be fine with the 1 packet as mentioned but I wouldn’t waste my time making beautiful high gravity wort to under pitch or intentionally increase lag time. I make starters with dry yeast all the time. It works fine. It grows more cells and helps start fermentation faster. I would...
@apache_brew
The interior dimensions are 27.25”Wx16.5”D
I also measured how wide the compressor shelf was and it’s 7”
Here are some updated photos. I just need to finish gas and liquid lines.
I also just scored 2 like new kegs, one a 2.5 gallon and one a 5 gallon for $40 total!!! Super pumped...
@apache_brew
I’ll check later today and get back to you.
@snookluvr
That’s the price online for me locally too but their website sucks. Just call in to your local Costco press like 1 for administrative and ask them. Just say you looking for a 7 cu ft chest freezer and they are really helpful...
My Keezer took a dump so I was in the market for a new one recently. I came across the Midea 7.0 Cu Ft at Costco for $169.99 so I bought it. This freezer can fit my 4 5 gallon corney kegs. It can also fit a kegmenter with 1 maybe 2 kegs. Im making a 2x8 collar so I can put an additional keg on...
I would keg it. Then everyday blow air through liquid out post and then waited 30 minutes and take a sample. I’ve made wheat beers with Wyeast 1010 that have been sulfury and done this and it went away. Don’t know if you used 1010 but it’s my go to wheat ale strain.
@Sgl
Just curious what kind of fermenter do you have? I’ve pushed beer out of glass with co2. They have the little 2 post rubber tops on Amazon for cheap for glass carboys. I use a kegmenter which is great. They are cheaper at Williamsbrew.com.
@Sgl
Definitely sounds like it could be oxidation to me as well. Have you tried filling your keg with sanitizer soulition to the brim then push out with co2. Then closed transfer with gravity displacement or by pushing beer from fermenter to keg with co2. Also I would add more hops as well. I...
I didn’t even realize the hop additions! Yes I would have a very small bittering addition like 10ibus. And then whirlpool the Azacca and Huell Melon you had originally going into the boil. Whirlpool/steep anywhere from like 150 to 180 for like 20-30 minutes. Then yes have like 20-40 percent of...
Not sure about the fruits but I would add wheat malt and flaked wheat and also maybe not use a yeast that Flocculates out clear like US-05. Maybe try Imperial Yeast Juice or like Wyeast 1318 London ale III.
Cheers!
@Shenanigans
Give it a try! I just brewed this agin this past Saturday and I pulled a sample yesterday at its amazing. I still have the FG dry hop left but the aroma was amazing. The taste was very yeasty and had Hop Bite. That always drops out for me. My hazy bois are always better when in keg...
