    color change after bottling

Could it be some form of oxidation? All of the pictures look like its turning to a rust color. I do not purge anything with CO2 before transfering or bottling...don't have the resources for that. I would assume that the brett would react somehow to to the extra O2, but none of my bottles have a...

    color change after bottling

I had the exact same thing happen to me. All brett brux trois primary, pale meets IPA, warrior bitter, nelson sauvin and motueka late hops, nelson sauvin motueka and citra dry hop. This is a sample poured after I took the FG reading: ...and this is from after I opened a bottle 6 days...

What is ACTUALLY in these extracts?

I still live in a small apartment and am limited to extract brews only. I want to start to focus on recipe formulation as compared to an all grain recipe so that when that day comes and I switch I will be able to create the same taste and color. So, can someone point me to a website or a thread...

    Growing yeast for a bottle

I wanted to try and grow up some dregs from a bottle. I put the dregs from 2 bottles of Jolly Pumpkin La Roja into a normal starter. This is my first time doing this and was wondering what I should be looking for. So far (3 weeks in the growler) I have some interesting activity and was wondering...

    High Fermentation Temps

The temperatures in my apartment won't go below 75/76 degrees. Is there any types of beers that have high fermenting temperatures that I could brew in my hot apartment that won't mind seeing temperatures upwards of 80/81 degrees?

    Scale down an AG brew

I live in an apartment building so I'm not able to use such things as turkey burners and 5 gallon boil packages. I am stuck to my (tiny)kitchen to produce my brews. Is there a way to scale down the AG brew process so I can start making my own recipes?

Thanks to DUNKEL....(how I found HBT)

First, I just want to give a standing O to the experienced homebrewers on this site. :ban: (clap clap clap clap clap) I first started brewing, around mid January 09, with the Brewers Best kits. Well, I'm still on the kits but that is not the meaning behind this thread. A few weeks ago I...

    Just outside of Philly

Some people call me JD and we'll leave it at that. New to the brewing scene, being 22 yrs old. Always wanted to do it but the 'rents wouldnt let me brew in the house (their house). Now that I graduated from college, moved out, have my own place...you get my point.
