    Kettle sizing question

    I do 10 gallon batches with all 3 pots as 15 gallon. I do want to swap out the Hlt for a 20 gal though so I can heat all of the water at once and not have to add to it after mash in. So, if I were you I would make the Hlt large enough to hold all of your water so if you do 5 gal batches do...

    I use a 15 gallon MT and BK without issue. I would make sure you get a 20 gallon HLT to make it all work smoothly though.

    Coffee stout question

    I always do a coarse grind (like you do if you use a french press) because this way you get the good coffee taste, not the bitter coffee taste. The more you grind the more bitter the coffee. Then, I will boil water, get it down to 170, and add it to the french press with the beans. Let it sit...

    HERMS question re: sparging

    I only use 1 pump with me herms and it works just fine. The key is to have multiple shutoff valves so you can move hoses when needed. I used quick disconnects everywhere to make that process easy.

    SpikeBrewing - Can you give a little more info about your pots. Type and guage of SS, dimensions per pot size, is the bottom triple clad if so what material is sandwich between the SS.
