It was never active. No fermentation at all.

Thanks for the reply. How long does this stuff keep for? I've heard gruit beer doesn't last as long as beer with hops

I've been experimenting with strange beers lately, and I've been trying to find spices for gruit. Specifically yarrow and bog myrtle (sweet gail). I can't even find seed to grow it myself. The closest I could find was dried up yarrow pedals on amazon. Any leads? I might have to just use my 22lbs...
