Never had a good Asian beer

I haven't either but I bet just like in the U.S. they have their special beers. I think all mass produced American beers are discusting. Busch, mich, Bud, Miller... I think they all suck. I do really like sake!

    bottles

Any beer bottle will do (pop off cap kind is best I think). Save or have your friends save their bottles and just clean and sterilize them in the tub. You can also buy new ones by the case at brew stores/online. If you're brewing 5 gallons at a time then you'll just need 8 six packs.

    What is cider?

Yeah, sorta. Kind of like a alcoholic apple juice but with a warmer rounder feel. There are quite a few to choose from so take the plunge and give it a whirl. I like the variety called "Hardcore Cider". Ciders are generally fairly higher in abv. than most regular beers in the...

    H2o

That's cool. Thanks. I didn't think about the gallon water jug tasting like plastic. That's definitely a concern. There's a natural spring nearby that people get their drinking water from. I wonder if I could use it, just boiling out anything bad. I dunno.

    Decotion Mash

Sounds good but a little complicated (for me). I've brewed about 6 times in the last three months, all extracts by John Bull and True Brew. Mostly porters, stouts and IPA's. It's just so easy. What you've described looks good, though. For the Irish Stout I have fermenting now, I put...

I know that water is very important in making beer but where is the best place to get it? Bottled? Purified tap? Thanks. -Sarra
