I'm looking for the 2 main base malts used in the Glacier brewhouse imperial blonde clone that was in the July/August 2012 issue of BYO. I have most of the recipe in my beersmith but some how one of the base malts is missing and I can't find my issue of BYO. I appreciate any help.
I am looking a hydrofarm hmdph200 meter. Does anyone currently use one and what are your thoughts on one? I have seen good reviews on here about a Hanna model but not on this one even though this one seems to be better for the price (going on the stats)...
I am visiting some family in the southwest now and I am thinking about make a batch of beer with some local ingredients ... juniper berries and mesquite when I get home. My question is do you pick them green or wait until they are dry? Then I am thinking about using the mesquite to wood age it...

This happened when I was trying to break the inter pouch so I can make a starter tonight; it is just a pin hole leak. I swabbed it with alcohol. Has anyone else had this happen? And should I worry about an infection?
No agitation necessary, after testing I found that only if their was a huge difference in HLT TEMP and MLT temp (I'm talking about 50-100 F). And during a mash I will never see this. And I have checked the temps at 2 inch depth of my HLT and it was in sync with my probe that was ~15" in depth of...
I force carb and no matter how good I am at leaving the sediment behind in the primary I still always end up with a little sediment in the bottom of my kegs when I empty one.
But neat idea! Just hope you don't have any cops that live on the block...
