    I am intrigued by the test equipment that you referenced, so I did so more looking online. The folks at Hach have a spectrometer as well; model DR-500, which can be programmed for testing homebrew; but has a $7k price tag. The LaMott's system is cheaper at $1000, but does not mention a beer...
