Yes I used a 5/8" reamer in a drill press with simple wood jig to hold the fitting from torquing and still letting it float, i used a wax stick for lubricant. SAm

    Sierra Nevada Resilience IPA

Just put the fermenter into the garage to cold crash. 7 days since picthing yeast, 3 days since dry hopping. The temp in the garage is right around freezing so it will be a nice cold crash.

    My keg fermenter

Have my 5th batch fermenting. 35 degrees in the garage so it is in the back hall. Currently @66.9 F and 17.5 psi. fermentation is pretty much done so it will be going into the garage for cold crash tomorrow. I really like this fermenter.

    Fermentation bucket liners

I bought these on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J29FPVO/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 I use them as a liner in a 5 gallon bucket to transfer cooled wort to my 15 gallon sanke fermenter. I think they would be large enough use as a liner for a 6.5 gallon fermenter bucket sam

    My keg fermenter

Hello all, I have my second all grain 10 gallon batch fermenting away in my sanke fermenter. So far I am thrilled with it. Cleaning it is a breeze. Open it up, garden hose in the driveway to get the big stuff out, hot tap water with oxyclean free scrub, hot tap water rinse. On brew day a...

    Pressure fermenting

This beer has been in my keezer for a week and I have been pouring off it all week, I can honestly say the flavor has been getting better. As it is now flavor wise, is where I think it is going to get to. I am very happy with it. The second keg that I added the peach juice to will go in the...

    Pressure fermenting

Today I blanched two pounds of peaches, dropped then into an ice water bath and peeled them. After peeling I sliced them in half pulled the pits put them in a sauce pan and used a hand masher to mash them. 500 ml of water was added then heated slowly to 160f. The mixture was strained and I...

    Pressure fermenting

After the pressure stopped climbing 6 days after pitching the yeast, I let it sit in the fermenter for two weeks at 30 psi, 64 degrees. I transferred the brew to 5 gallon sankes yesterday. Somewhat troublesome on the transfers as the beer foamed excessively. I am happy with the results so...

Did you use anything to limit outflow on the cooling side to get single pass cooling? How long did the cooling take? How big of a batch? sam

    Pressure fermenting

Have been fermenting well. I had one setback, the pressure built up beyond the flat silicone gasket could handle and I had a blowout on day two. I estimate the pressure went over 45 psi. Cleaned up the mess reset the gasket and has been fermenting along nicely. Temperature has been very...

    Pressure fermenting

Brewed for the first time in over twenty years yesterday. I brewed a basic 60 40 wheat ale with cascade for the 60 minute boil and citra additions at 15, 5, and flame out. ten gallon batch. First time ever all grain brewing. Had a bit of trouble getting the mash temp stabilized, finally at...

    my cyclone clone

Over the last couple of weeks I collected the supplies need to build a 5 row tube style chiller. I finished it today. Pictures are below. To make the soldering process easy I made some saddle clamps to hold the whole this together. I don't think I spent more than 20 minutes with the torch...
