    swapping RTD sensors?

I plan on using the PID to control mash temp, but only using the PID to display the temp while chilling. Learning the system wouldn't be an issue. My biggest concern is will the temp read the same if I swap sensors?

    swapping RTD sensors?

I'm thinking about using two different RTD sensors, one in my RIMS tube to monitor the mash them then another in an instrument T to monitor chill temp. Is it possible to swap the cord using the same PID, or do they need to be calibrated?

    240V element at 120V.

My bathroom circuits are all 20A. The kitchen are also 20A so my toaster and coffee maker are safe.

    240V element at 120V.

Well I'm trying to stay under 80% of the circuit breaker rating. 80% of 15 is 12. Using the 1500W element wouldn't leave room for a pump.

    240V element at 120V.

I ran into a small hitch in my RIMS plan. My brewing area is only on a 15A circuit. I pulled an outlet and it is 14gauge wire, not 12 so I guess I'm stuck with 15A. I assume it's ok to use a higher rated element at lower voltage. I'm thinking about using this element...

    RIMS system design

Thank you for the info I'm not sure if this is the right section of the forum, but figured I'd post in electric because I'll eventually need help with the wiring. Here is an artistic rendition of my planned control panel stand. I guess I was looking for some automatic safety that would...

    RIMS system design

I'm in the process of building a RIMS system and I want to make sure I'm not reinventing the wheel. I'm not quite ready to ask for specific wiring diagram help yet, but I want to share my plan to make sure it makes sense and look for input before I finalize everything. I don't have a fixed...

My Water: Too much bicarbonate & sodium

This looks an awful lot like softened water. Are you sure you took your sample before the softener?
