How many beers do you drink a night?

Usually 2-3 drinks for me. But not always beer. I also enjoy mead, wine, bourbon and Scotch. Sometimes more on the weekend. And I try to go for a no-drink day once a week... usually ends up being more like every other week though. I rarely get drunk - only when at parties, which are rare...

    Can't stick to a recipe...

Once I get to the brew store, my recipe doesn't usually change unless they don't have what I'm looking for and I need to choose a substitute. I do however, find recipes I'd like to try and almost always end up changing them to suit my own tastes. I do the same thing when cooking. I rarely...

    How many brewers also cook?

None of the poll options accurately describes my situation. I am the family cook. I do take a good deal of pride in knowing that I am providing healthy, nutritious, tasty meals for my wife and kids. But I don't do it for the "If it makes everybody go OMG!" factor.

Is all grain is that much better or is it just that you have become a better brewer?

For me, it's mostly experience. I All Grain, Partial, BIAB, and extract brew, depending on my mood and available time. With experience, I've learned which styles of beer will work well with which method of brewing. In addition, my techniques for all brewing methods has improved, and I've...

How do you get O2 in your wort before pitching?

I chose "Shaking" for the poll, but I do a combination. I dump the wort into the fermenting bucket, through a colander, then seal it all up and shake/slosh it, then pitch my yeast. So both shaking and pouring.

Do you find a high degree of bottle to bottle variance in your beer?

^What he said, about sums up my own bottling experience as well. I may have some slight variance in carbonation from time to time, but that's obviously the priming sugar not being evenly mixed in. It's not usually an issue for me, but sometimes I get lazy. Otherwise.. no other noticeable...

Best pale base malt for 'malty' beers I can SMaSH with?

I've done a SMaSH Saison using Maris Otter and Saaz hops, with a Belgian Saison yeast. It came out quite good.

Ranking of states by beer... interesting.

With the states I've been to, this article seems pretty good. Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, California.. all look pretty well placed to me. My favorite beer state is Oregon (Portland and Eugene areas, at least), hands down. Seems like there is a great pub on every street...

A Controversial Question: What is the best crappy beer?

Trader Joe's Simpler Times Lager (and Pilsner). $2.99 - $3.49 a 6-pack. And not too bad tasting.

    Some recipe construction help

The Beer Camp website says there are 10 grains in the bill. I only have 8 in my recipe.. I wasn't sure what else to fill in with.

    Some recipe construction help

I just came across this post while looking for a Maillard's Odyssey clone myself. I haven't found anything. But I did make up a clone attempt (or as you say, inspired by) based on what information I could find. OG/FG match up closely, and I've got an approximation of all the grains and hops...
