Is there really a 'Beer God"?

Sorry for the confusion...I had bought a large bag of caps...and was told, after awhile, it is a good idea to throw the caps in some hot water (thus heating them) to soften the small rubber seal, to allow for a tight seal...made sense to me, but at that point in the process...I though..."that...

Is there really a 'Beer God"?

Just started fermenting my 3rd batch of beer (7 Bridges Red Ale)...but the story revolves around my 2nd batch of beer - which I bottled about 15 months ago...unfortunately, it never carbonated due to may lack of adequately securing the caps (did not heat the cap prior to clamping...dumb.) But...

    Co2 and kegging

Thanks...what if I was not force carbing...just letting the beer sit for a week in the keg with pressure (sorry, dont know the lingo yet, as this is the 1st batch I will be kegging) I still dont see the reason for DME as I will still supply the Co2. Thanks

After careful measuring, my carboy doesnt look full enough...

I assume you mean 'strong' (as in flavor) not alcohol content...if so, don't worry. I made an IPA with less in the glass carboy than you have (I was bummed too at first) the beer has a stronger flavor, but is great! You can tweak the next 5 gallons...but first enjoy this batch...it will be fine...

    Co2 and kegging

I have a question that I think was already answered. But..here goes. If I am kegging my beer, do I still need to add the Dry Malt Extract?? some places I have read, they say use 1/4-1/2 (~2-4 oz.) of what comes with the recipe kit if kegging. Not sure why this would be necessary as I thought...

    cooling the wort down

Thanks a lot. I like the above quote...keeps things chill and in perspective. going with the pre-boiled/chilled water this time...will try bottled next time for a one day brewing cycle. Thanks again.

    cooling the wort down

Quick ? as this is brew day! Obviously I am new to this (only 2 batches under my belt) I have in the past (and this time) boiled and chilled ~3.5 gal of water the night before, so I can add it into the carboy first before adding the hot wort (to aide in chilling). Question is: Does this...
