Cold crash then keg condition warm?

Thanks for the tips! Looks like I'll be ok if i cold crash and then bring to room temp. But I forgot that my garage is around 40° during Dec, Jan, Feb. I could throw some kegs out there with just a little CO2 to seal the lids until space in the kegerator frees up. I brew outside and I don't...

Cold crash then keg condition warm?

I know what you're saying, but I have been cold crashing to get the dry hop matter to the bottom of the carboy, and then I rack to the keg. I do it the way you describe for all beers that I do not dry hop. I may have to try racking from a warm dry hopped secondary to a keg with a strainer on...

Cold crash then keg condition warm?

i'm starting to get a stockpile of beer ready for the winter, but I'm running into a situation where I cant go directly from cold crash into the kegerator. The kegerator will be full of kegs when the cold crash of another batch is done. Is it ok to cold crash and then start keg conditioning...

Witbier Blue Balls Belgian Wit (Blue Moon Clone)

I have some fresh wheat from the farm. Can I use this instead of flaked wheat? If so, any changes in the mash instructions?

    Show off your mash tun

Here's mine. I just put my 3rd braid replacement in - this time over a ss spring to prevent braid collapse. The upper "sparge arm" sags a little so I use bread wrappers to anchor it so that the sparge drips evenly.

Porter w/Jack Daniels - no carbonation

I brewed 2- 5 gallon batches of Porter. One on 10/5, the other on 10/26. Both have vanilla beans soaked in Jack Daniels (along with some Jack) added to the secondary. I bottled the first batch around 11/5 using cane sugar as a priming sugar. I kegged the second batch. I tried a bottle...

For me, the top level is too high to be able to look into the kettles. Otherwise looks good.

    Braid -vs- False Bottom?

Thanks for the spring info! I can't wait to get one. Then I won't have to hold back as much when I'm stirring close to the bottom.

    Braid -vs- False Bottom?

I'm getting ready to replace my braid for the 2nd time due to crushing problems. Where did you get the ss spring?

    What are you drinking now?

My version of BierMuncher's centennial blonde on a 98 degree day. Great beer on a hot day.

    Bottling / keg conditioning options?

I have a porter sitting in a primary for 3 weeks and a kegerator that won't have an opening for 2 more weeks. I'm going to keg the porter and bottle a few bottles. I have extra cornies and an extra co2 tank, but no way of refrigerating the porter until I finish a corny in the kegerator. 1...

    Fridge door shelves removed

My shelves were a single molded piece of plastic that was screwed to the door around the the outside edge of the panel. The rubber door gasket covered the screws. I was able to slightly move the gasket to get at the screws. I didn't have to take the door off. Just fitted the gasket around my new...

    Fridge door shelves removed

I started cold crashing a few batches ago. I don't have room to cold crash in our fridges, so I cold crash either outside or in the garage. But when spring comes, these options are gone. My bar fridge won't hold a carboy because the door shelves take up too much space. So I removed the...
