The two months time in secondary was per the instructions of the kit. Bulk conditioning. It does look quite dark there -- lightens up in a smaller vessel though.
I don't think it has grown in the three days I've been aware of it so hopefully that's a good sign..
I've had a Belgian Tripel in secondary for 2 months. I only noticed this yesterday, but something has developed along one edge of the surface that has me worried it might be an infection. Attached are images. Feedback would be appreciated.
My lager fridge called it quits last night. I will be replacing it soon, unfortunately this occurred during an active lager process for a 5 gallon batch of Vienna Lager.
I completed d-rest and transferred the beer to a secondary vessel for prolonged lagering. Fermentation is fully done...
Hoping you guys can verify whether or not this yeast step up plan will work...
Knowns
-Brewing 5 gallons of 1.050 lager
-Need 350B cells to do the job
-Have a single lager smack pack dated 8/13 which should have 86B viable cells
-Equipment available is 2L Erlenmeyer flask and stir plate...
re #2: It does taste a bit sweet, but not so sweet that it tastes bad.
re #3: No rush to finish this beer other than one of my primaries being tied up for however much longer. I have a Columbus IPA planned for this week which also uses US-05. Perhaps I could pitch onto it in two weeks...

Pitched 1.4 packs of rehydrated US-05 as per mrmalty.
