My Bayou Classic SQ14 Windscreen Addition

This is a timely post resurrection! I just went to Lowes to figure out a windscreen solution for my banjo burner. I just happened to come across this, and it fits perfectly! Genius minds think alike!

what size hose clamps for thermoplastic tubing?

Somehow over the yrs I've lost a bunch of hose clamps! I'm looking to buy some on amazon but not sure what size to get. Purpose is to attach 1/2" thermoplastic tubing (I believe outside diameter is 3/4") to a March pump and hose barbs on boil kettles. Any help is appreciated!

    AG kits without base malts

Anyone know of a mail order that does prepares all-grain kits with everything (hops, specialty malts, yeast, etc) but not the base malts? I have nearly 50 lbs of malted barley, wheat, and rye but am too lazy to formulate recipes and buy everything individually. I seem to recall years ago there...

    Ordering beer labels

Hello everyone. I've happily been recruited to make the beer for our son's bar mitzvah party! Now I have to get labels. I really don't want to print them at home - I'd rather order them with a cute graphic and custom messages. Does anyone know of a good website for this kind of thing? Any...

    question about motorizing my mill

I think I figured out the problem guys. Turns out I never thought to actually stick an allen wrench in the little hole and turn it! That's the screw! Sorry to trouble you with this. Thanks for the help.

    question about motorizing my mill

So I decided to motorize my barley crusher, and I've decided to direct-drive it, using a gearmotor. My question relates to the way one connects the shaft of the mill to the shaft of the motor. I see that most people use "lovejoy" connectors with a spider. My question: what is preventing the...

Ranco temp regulator will not run chest freezer

First thing I'd do is plug the chest freezer into the wall and make sure it works. Then I'd make sure that when you have the ranco plugged in you have it set right. You have to set it to cool, not heat. If you accidently have it set to heat then you're asking it to turn on when the...

what fitting to attach burner to 1/2" black pipe?

Nice pics! Mind if I mind asking what kind of orifices you used to the burner, and what kind of flared fittings? Also, is that just a plain regular ball valve, or is it a needle valve. Thanks.

what fitting to attach burner to 1/2" black pipe?

Hi all. I'm building a single-tier brewstand A LA brutus 10, and I think I'd like to use the el cheapo high-pressure burners listed here http://www.agrisupply.com/cast-iron-burner-com-/p/30295/cn/5400001/ Any idea what fitting is best to use to plumb these to 1/2" black pipe for the gas...

    Bayou Classic Temperature Control Valve

Wouldn't the temp range be about the same for the MT and the HLT? Doesn't the device need some kind of electrical supply? Don't tell me they need you to put a battery in it right next to a burning propane tank!

    False Bottom deadspace

I assume you are batch sparging. If you are fly sparging the dead space under the false bottom really doesn't matter because it'll just be very dilute wort anyway.

    Carbon monoxide hazards are real

Wouldn't a person have to be insane to use propane indoors anyway, if with a CO2 detector? I mean, CO poisoning is one hazard, an explosion from a small propane leak is another. I believe the summary is NO BURNING PROPANE INSIDE! EVEN WITH A CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR NEARBY!

How to prevent rust on bedframe brutus?

Hello. I'm a cheap bastard and am in the process of making a single-tier brewstand out of metal bedframes. It's actually coming along pretty well, but I'm worried that it is going to rust even though it will be stored in my garage. How to I prevent that? It has a brown color to it now. Do I...
