    i think is tartness... i using normal sugar to make it.. i believe i put too much sugar, the alcohol taste is a bit strong.. but is less sour since the 1st day i try it. BUT a glass full with ice and 1y apple wine in evening is so enjoyable.

    don't worry.. if your sg is below 1.000, that mean all sugar is finish fermented. the only possible it bubbled is due to heat that force co2 to release, or shaking of carboy cos it release. if better, try to let your applewine aging for 6-8 month..my 1 now sit for 4 month already... really cant...

    i using anchor wine yeast VIN13 and left it into fermenter for 1 month without any racking. it finish bubbling after 8 day. The wine color is nice, golden color. just the taste of apple is missing, a tinny bit of alcohol smell[i expect it to be strong due hard due to 1 gallon juice wif 1 pound...

    hi, i just bottling my 1st applewine yesterday night which make from 1 gallon of apple juice and 1 pound of sugar. but when i take a sample to drink, it dint have any apple smell and not really have alcohol smell...and have a souring taste and a bit warm through throat. is that normal??

    thank for all response, i have taste some sample from it, it taste very dry and all yeast already setter down at bottom. by this time can i do raking or should i wait for few more week?i still wonder where the sour taste come from, is that possible it come from honey itself?
