I let it come to room temp before pitching it, no worries there. I always use dry yeast and I have never had it do that before. everyone else think it's ok?
I purchased an ingredient kit from my local hbs shop yesterday and when i received my packet of dry yeast it was hard and still vacuum sealed, however today i began brewing and i took the packet out of the fridge and i noticed it was soft. It still seemed sealed, i didn't see any holes or tears...
So i have been really busy with the holidays, my new job, and football so i haven't been paying as much attention to my brews as i would like to. i have a rye-pa and a raspberry wheat that have been sitting in the primary for about 2 to 3 months. is that bad? is this what results in beer giving...
Thanks everyone for your help. its been fermenting for almost 32 hours so i am going to leave. it looks ike the worst is over, but i will for sure be buying some 1/2 inch before my next brew.
