Simple method for saving yeast for next cider batch?

For cider, I really cut all corners this year. I dumped yeast directly into the gallons of cider, and placed the lid (not quite sealed) back on the cider jug. When I moved it to the keg, I left the slurry in the bottom, and poured my next gallons of cider right on top of that. Did that for 3...

    Oatmeal Stout Yooper's Oatmeal Stout

I like the BIAB idea. I have a big bag that I normally use for filtering between primary/secondary/keg. It's big enough for a 5 gallon BIAB. I will work with the recipe and see what I can make happen on paper.

Thanks for the quick reply! I was just getting ready to reply to my own post, but you beat me to it! I realized that after I posted it, forgot about the oatmeal. I'm going to have to re-think my plan a bit. Could a partial mash of this size be done with only a 5 gallon kettle?

I didn't see a lot of conversation in this thread regarding conversion to extract. It seems like the most simple conversion would be to replace the 7lbs of MO with 5.25lbs of MO LME. I hate wasting LME, due to cost. So, one could use 6 lbs. This would raise the OG by around 7 points, if my...

    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

Moving this batch to secondary. Grabbed a sample for hydrometer testing. 1023, which puts me at 4.5%. I thought that seemed a little low, double checked beersmith, and lo and behold, that was their estimated ABV. After I was done with my measurements...I sampled the prize. Wow! It's a...

Brewed my 2nd batch of this yesterday. Used Denny's Favorite this time, beer was a little thin with US-05, hoping the different yeast will help in that regard. It was my first time with a liquid yeast, made a 1L starter. Increased crystal and lactose by .25, decreased wheat by .5. OG...

    Brewmasters Warehouse

I placed an order on 2/23, hadn't seen this thread with all of the problems listed. Waited about 10 days, then contacted them via email. No response, so I sent another email. At 14 days, I left a voicemail. At 16 days I called during business hours, no answer, left another voicemail, asking...

    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

Brewed on Dec 22, followed extract recipe, used safale US-05. Primary was 2 weeks, kegged on day 15. OG was 1.072, FG was 1.018. Feb 10 was the first time it didn't taste too green. Carbed and chilled. Today, on Feb 17, after nearly 60 days, it's awesome!!! This recipe will get a permanent...
