I've been running my EHERMS system for over a year now with no problems. The other day I smelled a burning plastic smell and noticed one wire on my SSR was burnt at the terminal. The wire is not in contact with anything else and the plastic cap is on the SSR. Does this simply mean I have a...
Well i think you have the mash temps covered. I was surprised to see that I had a high pH even with pH 5.2. Once I got a digital pH meter i was able to bring my pH down.
Are you sure you are calculating right? Maintaining mash temps like you do and recirculating should be yielding great results.
1. How are you monitoring mash temps?
2. What is the pH of your mash?
I find on my system using a HERMS, you really have to monitor the mash in a few different spots and stir to get things uniform. If you just rely on one temp probe in a fixed location it's possible that your temps are low or...
I believe it is also 1.5" tubing. I think the stand will hold up to a lot more than a few 30 gallon kettles. The hot water stands from Home Depot are rated for 150lbs and they are thin galvanized metal.
What I am saying is that an order placed to China today would take about 30 or so days to arrive here in the states. As with everything, the more you buy at one time the better price you get per unit and with shipping. So the guy at Stouts probably waits until he fills a large order before...
I'm in the process of rebuilding somethings and I was wondering the same thing. Right now I have an EHERMS system and my temp probe for my MT is in back in the middle of where the grain bed would be. I also have a thermometer in front and it takes forever for the two to sync up. I think I would...
I had numerous batches like this and my culprit was my CFC, I believe I had an aceto infection and it would take time for the beer to sour with no visible sings of infection. If I had it on tap 3-4 weeks after brewing it was fine for the first week, a little off by the second, and not drinkable...
You can look at them HERE
I have a good friend who just moved to Shanghia, China which is about 2hrs from where these are produced. He works for CAT so we could probably get a deal on shipping.
Conical
Is it just me or are a lot of people entering into this pro-level homebrew conical manufacturing with ridiculous price tags?
I mean it doesn't even have tri-clamps and you want $900 for 12 gallons capacity. All this stuff comes from China so how do you justify the price tag?
Well you may have a chance with 3/4" fittings. That pump can move some liquid and I made the mistake of going 1/2" on my kettles. In the near future I'm going to have all new 1" tc fittings put in.
