    Wine Not Fermenting Fast Enough

I also discovered a crack along the lid of my fermenting bucket. Sealed that up, re-pitched and it's bubbling away.

    Wine Not Fermenting Fast Enough

I didn't re-hydrate my yeast at all- just poured it over the must. I assume this was my problem.

    Wine Not Fermenting Fast Enough

Beer guy here trying to expand to winemaking. My Pinot Grigio kit has only gone from 1.096 to 1.075 in 8 days. I'll admit I haven't been good about stirring it daily as the kit instructions advised. It's been kept at about 72 degrees. Should I re-pitch another packet of 1118? Maybe make a...

    Recipe Advice

Probably straddles the line between pale ale and ipa, but I like the IBU's on this.

Cool. I like the last suggestions and have wanted to experiment with whirlpooling/hopstanding more. I plugged it into BeerSmith: Pils Malt Pale Ale American Pale Ale (10 A) Type: All Grain Batch Size: 5.00 gal Boil Size: 6.79 gal Boil Time: 90 min End of Boil Vol: 5.98 gal Final Bottling...

    Recipe Advice

I want to brew a beer using ingredients on hand. I've got pilsner malt, 1 lb white wheat, crystal 15, crystal 45, and carapils. Hops are 1 oz each of CTZ, Falconer's Flight, Galaxy and Cascade. I can buy dry hops later. Yeast will be US-05. I was thinking a pale ale with about 9 lbs of...

    Howzit Look?

Yeah, I've currently got 1 oz of Simcoe for hopstand and 3 oz of dry hops.

Awesome- thanks all. May try a lil' Tettnang.

    Dry Hop For Cream Ale?

Just brewed a (sort of) cream ale with pilsner malt and Saaz hops. I don't usually dry hop this style but want to try it. Any recommendations for a dry hop that will complement Saaz? I've heard dry hopping with Saaz is weird so I'd like to try something else. I used an ounce of Saaz at 60...

    Myrcenary Clone Recipe

Awesome- thanks. How big of a bittering charge are you suggesting? 2.5 oz? How long of a hopstand do you recommend?

    Myrcenary Clone Recipe

I'm trying to clone Odell Myrcenary IIPA which is brewed with lots of hops high in myrcene oil. ABV of the original is 9.3% w/ 70 IBU's. Below are some notes from the brewers I found elsewhere on the board that I used for guidance. What do you think? "We use a blend of 2-row pale malt...

Project Thors Hammer - Odell Myrcenary Clone

Ah, I see. The only hops during the boil was the FWH. The rest were all whirlpool and dry hopping. Let us know if you brew it again! I really want to replicate this beer.

Project Thors Hammer - Odell Myrcenary Clone

Hmmm- all those hops at 60/30 min in version 3 you posted would put your IBU's off the chart (certainly not 29!) I also calculate the OG to be too high. Did you brew it as posted?
