Issues with burner - Bug in the system

I had a big day planned with doing a double batch of my CDA. Anyways, I went to fire up my main burner today and got a really small flame, even on high. It's really odd, because previously, it would sound like a flame thrower going off before, with massive flames. Now, it's maybe 1/4"...

There's a bug in the system! I couldn't get a good burn going on my main burner. Turns out the orifice was clogged...

Wyeast 3191 Berliner Weisse no activity

Came home tonight, saw a slight bit of activity from the blowoff, so I sneaked a peak. Sure enough, a krausen has formed. I really hope the extract pack of lacto helps the sourness come through, since I haven't had a good sour since visiting Cascade on their opening week.

Wyeast 3191 Berliner Weisse no activity

Curious, I just brewed up this weekend using this yeast. I had also gotten a pack of Lacto on it's own, since I originally planed to do a starter with lacto then add sach later, but couldn't past on the berliner pack because of the cost (Free). I ended up pitching the additional pack of lacto...

Thar she blows - How bad (or good) is this?

I had that with a stout recently. Lost about 1/2 g out of a 5 g batch. I was using a 6.5G pail with a blow off into a 1g growler. It filled the growler, and spilled out everywhere.

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

Maybe that's the difference. I tried brewing this a couple weeks back and moved it to a secondary to clear up room. The flavor wasn't quite right, though the OG/FG was there, along with the hop schedule and ferment temps (if anything, it might have been slightly low here).

    Holy blow out tube

Nice, that picture of the overflowing growler looks just like my last couple batches, especially my RIS, where I used a couple packets of notty, and really aerated the batch.

    VSS 9097 Old Ale

Hey, just wanted to post an update. I submitted my beer made with this yeast into the 2010 Cascade brewers cup. 2nd (out of 12) in Strong Ales. Not too shabby, can't wait to see the score sheet.

    Kolsch yeast and a question

So it turned out I needed a blow off tube with this beer. Got home last night and even with the batch at 52-54 degrees, it popped the top last night. Got the tube rigged up last night, checked in this morning and the tube was filled, and a good 1/2 of sediment/yeast in the blow off tank...

    Kolsch yeast and a question

Well this could be interesting... I made up a typical Kolsch yesterday for the first time. I had a starter going before, and had a good amount of yeast because people suggested to ferment cold. When I looked in on it this morning (~16 hours since pitching the starter), it was showing pretty...

    Irish Car Bomb Stout

Well, right now, the only test I've got is uncarbed and around 50-55 degrees. I'll tell you though, that pint picture I held up disappeared quickly though. Right now, I'd rank it right in around a 7-7.5. It might have too much sweetness for some, so I took a point off for that. It's not like...

    Irish Car Bomb Stout

My intent (and I think others also) was to try to get the flavors that you get with an irish car bomb without the high alcohol and mixing of drinks. I just wanted some of the chocolate/cream/Jameson in a easy drinking stout. ABV was the least of my concern. I'd be surprised if mine...

    Irish Car Bomb Stout

Pictures up... This is from bottling today. Vanilla is there a bit, chocolate is obvious. Slightly sweet and very drinkable. I don't really notice the oak nor the Jameson though. Maybe that'll come out once it's carbed and has had a chance to sit.
