Awesome! I'm on the fence to go with the prebuilt Spike Solo system but find the $2000+ cost a little high. You solution seems like a great alternative.

@NewJersey do you have issues with a stuck mash? It seems like that may be the biggest issue on the solo system.

I'm also in the same boat as you @TBeck67. I was initially thinking clawhammer but really like the Spike solo. I've not pulled the trigger yet but thinking I will go with the 15gal Solo system.

I'm leaning towards the 240V system. It does cost more on initial investment since most don't have that power readily available, but the heat up times seem significantly shorter on the 240V system. Look at Brulosophy's reviews of each. 120V System - 58 minutes for the water to hit 152°, then...

I'm looking at picking up the 240V 10.5gal from Clawhammer. Do you know who's pump they use?
