New Kegerator owner, having pressure issues

Hey all, My wife bought a kegerator for me for Christmas! Got it set up this weekend and I love it, but am having a small problem with it I am hoping the experts can tell me what I'm doing wrong. I am not yet kegging homebrew, so I got a log of Harpoon from my local store and hooked it up...

    Star*San... Hot or cold H2O??

According to the guy who invented star san, you should use cold water for your star-san solutions. He was interviewed by James Spencer from Basic Brewing™ : Home Brewing Beer Podcast and DVD - Welcome in one of his podcasts. It is actually a really good interview, you should listen to it. I...

    Connecticut Hops

My Sterling did really well, it grew about 14 feet and proceeded to sprout about 25-30 cones total. I'm just happy to get anything for the first year. My Fuggle on the other had. Took it forever to break ground, I had just about given up on it. Then, when it did, it slowly crept it's way up the...

My hops'll beat up your hops!!

 Holy mother of......I think you might be able to brew an IPA on just one of those cones by itself. Good lord. I can only hope by plants one day produce a monster like that. Next year, I'll compete.

    I Have Hops!

I haven't actually gotten a close look yet, I just noticed them today. I'm going to have to break out the ladder and climb up there, as there are no cones close enough to the ground to reach unaided. really just those pictured up on the top. We'll see.

    I Have Hops!

I was unsure if I would get anything this year, but I looked at my plant this morning and what do I see? 25 or so cones forming at various sizes! I'm going to have a harvest this year! The picture isn't very good, but the cones are still fairly clearly visible. Here is the original...

So first Year Hop Growers - how'd it turn out ?

I only planted 2 rhizomes but so far so good. the fuggle took it's sweet, sweet time to pop out of the ground, to the point where I effectively gave up on it showing up at all. It's slowly crept up to about 4 feet tall and I suspect that will be about all I get from it this year. I fully...

Help a new hop gardener out. Where to plant?

Hmm. I had not considered that. the houses are pretty close to the property lines on either side in my neighborhood and my neighbors house is right there. There are also 4 trees the same size as the tree in the back yard (monstrous 80ish foot oaks and maples) in the front yard. Basically, the...

Help a new hop gardener out. Where to plant?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I had considered that as well but was thinking maybe a tree that size the root structure is so deep it would not interfere with the smaller root structure of the hop plants. I'm probably wrong, though.

Help a new hop gardener out. Where to plant?

Hey guys! I'm calling on your expertise. I am not a great gardener, so I am having trouble deciding where to plant the rhizomes I just received in the mail. Here is a basic drawing of my back yard. The way I see it, there are 2 places to plant the rhizomes. The first is by the deck...

    New brewing techniques?

Hey Dmako, I went to the same guy. He seems to know a lot about brewing beer/wine/cider. But his methods seem a little off to me. I went there shortly before brewing my first batch (coming up on a year ago) and he thought I was crazy because I was starting off with a kit from Midwest which...
