This is my first yeast starter, I bought the kit from northern brewer, so I'm making a 5 gallon batch of 1.075 OG. It says to use 650 ml of water with 1/2 cup of DME, what I was wondering is, will this be the right amount for a 5 Gallon batch? Thanks
So I'm doing a black IPA kit and it says to use a yeast starter. I bought the starter kit with the beaker thing, now do I use my whole Wyeast packet in it or do I save some of the Wyeast to put in the whole wort once it's cooled? Thanks in advance, and the extract kit is from northern brewer.
ok thanks guys, so it seems like the pellets are the only thing that might need to be bagged. Im leaning towards no bag with the pellets... I have whole hops and pellets.....
this is my first brew that needs dry hops added to the second fermenter. Do i need to put the hop pellets or whole hops in a cheese cloth bag or anything like that, or can I just toss it in and not worry about it?
this would be my second brew, i have just a starter kit and dont really know much about this stuff yet... I was wanting to make a brew that was an IPA or just more than the amber ale I made. I saw this local kit and was wondering if my starter kit would work or if I need anything extra for hops...
ugh, OK IM discouraged.
So can i just pour it back into the carboy on week 2 or 3 with the spiget or do i need to siphon it back in? Because i do NOT want to prime each individual bottle.
