How did your 5.75% version come out? I would think its actually closer to a clone since DFH 60min is 6%. Making next weekend and was trying to decide between your higher % to the lower % version.

Is it possible that your thermometer is not calibrated properly?

The ABV is also way to high. I believe DG comes in at 6.5%. This one comes in around 8.5ish% according to BeerSmith.

I've been brewing something close to this for the past 5 or 6 years as my "house ale". Been using Pilsner instead of Pale and Palisades instead of Amarillo. Have to give this one a shot this weekend and compare.

Whats was the quantites of grains that you used? I did 5.5 2 row and 4.5 wheat. 7lbs of watermelon in the secondary and it came out fantastic. Bet you'll be surprised how good yours comes out.

Attempted to make a clone of this last year for a summer BBQ I have every year. My friends made fun of me for brewing a "Girl" beer relentlessly. Funny thing is it was the first keg out of five that was kicked. Now they are requesting it for this year over everything else I brew.

I did a single infusion, 60mins @ 154. Hit all my numbers, came out great. Brewed for Easter with a house full reverse beer snobs (Coors light drinkers). Keg was kicked in 3 hours. My brother inlaw noticed right away that it had a slight hint of orange to it. Not bad coming from a guy that only...

Brewed this on 4/2. Came out of the Primary and into secondary with 1.013 and had a OG of 1.053, so its right where I would like it at 5.2%. Kegging it this weekend and will give a brief review once it sits in a keg for a couple days.
