I'm not sure if this is a typo, or intentional. The Flaked Wheat is listed at 1lb for both the 11gal and 5.5gal batch. I just put your 11gallon batch into Beersmith and then scaled (duh, I didn't scroll down enough to see you had the smaller batch size), which is how I caught this. I'm guessing...
These are my local homebrew shops, and both are awesome to deal with. I've moved around a lot since becoming a homebrew, and these are by far the best shops I've found! Brewbrothers prices are phenomenal, as is their service!!
Mmmm, Egg Drop Soup.
Yeah, I love this yeast just for that reason. So easy to decant the starter wort, and when fermenting you get a nice compact load of crap at the bottom!
So I removed the lid from my new Kenmore 8.8 cu ft Black Chest Freezer to build a collar. Now, the part of the hinge that connects to the lid is locked down, and I can not get it to release. Is there a trick to get it back up? It's not just the spring holding it down, I've pulled so hard it felt...

This is what I have, and it works great on my Better Bottles! Kinda spendy, but worth not having to mess with it.
Will do. I'm really excited that Bargain Fittings has these kits! I really had a pain of a time finding all the parts 5years ago when I did my round cooler. I think it sat there for like 2 months without being used, just because I was getting so frustrated and fed up with searching!
I got a hold of my buddies and measured. It looks to be 2", so I ordered the kit from you already Wayne. Do you know by chance if I will need to modify the cooler wall itself to make this work?
So I just ordered a 70qt Coleman Xtreme, as my 10gallon Home Depot cooler is getting a little tight lately with some of my batches. I really don't want to repeat the searching every hardware store in town for the correct parts to build this mash tun, so I plan on just ordering the Cooler...
I have the exact same box with my pump mounted exactly like yours. You're right about the slanted sides, was definitely tricky getting it flush in there.
So, are you heating water to mash temp in your HLT, transferring to mash-tun then just keeping it even with your Heating Element?
My Barley Crusher is no the way. After several years of reading posts on here, and sitting on the fence, I finally took the plunge as well. I already have 150lbs of grain in my garage, painful to look at it sitting there and not be able to use it!
