Ok so I made a pumpkin ale and put it in my conical to ferment on Labor day.Fermentation was great(constant bubbling 24 hours after pitching). After a week or so it settles down like it should. Yesterday I notice the airlock is sucking back into the conical. What causes this to happen?

How do you make the tobacco spray? I have not seen any this year but they seem to kill my cukes every time I plant them (which breaks my daughter's heart) so I know its a matter of time.

I swipe the tops of the bottles in the foam as an added effort to sanatise around the outside of the opening. It might be overkill but it dosent take any extra time.

I am going to plant my hops parallel to my fence so should I plant the rizhomes parallel to the fence or perpendicular? I dont know if my neighbor will apreciate it if the roots start invading his yard in a year or two.

I went real old school and roasted a real pumpkin in the oven. It's a real chore for very little payout IMHO.

are you using real maple syrup or maple flavored syrup (pancake syrup)? Also is it 1 Tbls of each spice or 1 Tbls overall?
