    moose drool/magic hat clones

I brewed caribou slobber and it is a great beer, I just would like it to have more body. would adding 1/2 pound of flaked oats do it any good? BTW I brewed the extract recipe, I don't have a kettle large enough for the AG recipe yet.

    NB Caribou Slobber gravity?

I brewed my Caribou Slobber kit on 12-22-12 and my starting gravity was 1.058 I took a gravity reading today and it was 1.026 is this sounding normal? I plan to take a reading every day till I get the same reading 3 days in a row. I put the beer from the reading in a glass and it is damn good.

    cleaning dirty glass carboy?

I had a glass carboy given to me and it is very dirty, it has stuff stuck to the inside. what would be the best way to clean it? I was thinking of soaking it in hot water for a while, then cleaning it with PBW.

    Fermenting Room Temp

happy I found this post. after reading it I checked and mine was at about 75 to 80 degrees. I moved it to a room that is 60 to 65 degrees. It was only in the warmer room for about 24 hours but that explains the massive amount of fermentation.

    first "real" brew

thanks yooper, I was wondering if that would work. is there any issue with it being on a plastic bucket? I mean will it be accurate as it would be on glass?

    first "real" brew

I added the yeast at 62 degrees so no worries there. I will see if I can find a stick on thermometer at my LHBS.

    first "real" brew

I got a NB essential kit with caribou slobber ingredient kit. I brewed it last night I followed the directions exactly, I got a hydrometer reading of 1.058. pitched the dry yeast and sealed the bucket and installed the airlock. I didn't expect the ferment to start for at least a day, it started...

    freezing propane tank

yes the water is the way to go. the reason it is freezing is because of the volume of gas flowing through the valve. I am a welder and every time I put on a new argon tank and do alot of heavy welding I get the same thing, I use a wet rag to help.
