It is a complete 15 gallon setup with blickman top tier, 20g boilermaker, conical fermenter, etc... If in the market for a propane setup we can talk. Not looking to loose my ass but do not expect retail. I am building a house and will be building a e-brewery in it so will not need this. I...
Not taking it personally. Just trying to prevent people from making same mistakes. Look a few posts down from yours. takes him an hour to drain (total) where it take the CPVC manifold less than 10 min. the reason it takes so long with the bazooka tube like he is using is it gets gunk on it...
You hardly get any "crap" into the boil pot with the CPVC. I only have to vorlauf for ~half gallon. then I run the output through a paint strainer just in case. I have done this since January and brew every two weeks. I get maybe a tablespoon of grain. Not too bad for 15g brews.
Also I tried the bazooka tube and am much happier with the CPVC. A quart of wort in a 15g batch is nothing. Also the screen would get clogged sometimes and I would have to keep beating on it with my stir stick to keep the wort flowing and forget it with a pump.
There is a big thread on the xtreme cool here https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/my-coleman-70-quart-extreme-copper-mash-tun-313896/
You put the notches down so grain does not get sucked in. When the grain bed settles it sits on top of the manifold and liquid drains from the bottom. That is...
The cascade and Centennial (along with grain bill) is what makes this an amazing session beer. I am not sure how the goldings mix with the centennial. I have added more Vienna before and it has always turned out great.
If the CO2 side was hooked up to the correct port (I know it is hard to install on wrong port but has been done) and the keg was not pressurized previously then this could not have happened even if over filled (unless the pressure was off). However if you pressurized the keg with a higher...
I do 15 gallon batches in mine. There is actual 17.5-18 gallons in these. Since my lid is not completely sealed I occasional have krausen come out from the lid. I have done 12 batches and one happened 2 times. I fill mine up to 15.5-16 gallon mark. Granted these are not big beers.
I keep mine on the outside for three reasons.
1. Easier to adjust and use while cleaning kegs.
2. More accurate gauge readings
3. Can fit more beer in keezer.
