    WYeast 3763-Roeselare Sour Blend

What kind of kreusan can I expect with this blend? Do I need a blow-off tube, or is an air-lock sufficient?

Mild recipes from "Brew Your Own British Real Ale"

Thanks Herbie, The Gale's has been one I was favoring, so, I guess it will be my next. I will pick up the "Mild Ale" book from the club library, and go from there for the future brews. Howard Oviedo, FL

Mild recipes from "Brew Your Own British Real Ale"

Has anyone made any of the mild recipes in Wheeler and Protz"s book "Brew Your Own British Real Ale" (BYOBRA)? I want to make some of the classics, but, when I plugged them into BeerSmith, the bittering was off the board. Are they really that bitter?

    Belhaven Twisted Thistle IPA Recipe

Thanks for the quick reply. OK, I'm going to make this, but I have a couple of questions. 1} original recipe calls for 0.25kg / 9oz crystal - what did you use? I'm thinking of using 8oz crystal 40L and 2oz crystal 120L. 2} what temp did you mash at? I'm thinking of 152°F. 3} what temp...

    Belhaven Twisted Thistle IPA Recipe

So, did anyone ever brew this, and if you did, how did it turn out? I've been making Scottish ales for the last couple of months (for the Highland Games season here in Florida), and I feel like something with hops, but not overboard. Cheers & Sláinte, Howard

It hasn't been canceled - just postponed to this spring, or early summer. Due to multiple logistic issues, they decided to not try and "pull it off" and have a mediocre event. I will post the new info here as soon as I get it. OOPS! header should be 2011

    Meadllennium 2008

Meadllennium 2008 What: The first Mead-Only competition of 2008. There are just six Mead-Only competitions in the USA. We are the oldest, and some even say the “most prestigious.” In 2008, we are bringing back the category for Historical Meads. This is for the meadmaker that prefers to make...

    Meadllennium 2007 - Results

MEADLLENNIUM 2007 was a great success. We had a record number of entries and awarded a record number of medals. No categories were collapsed, and, once again, we expanded the “Other Fruit Melomel” (25C) category to award medals for Dry, Semi-Sweet and Sweet, in the category. The new Historical...
