    Yeast nutrients a little confusing...

Tried making mead like 6 years ago or so. Jumped in...didn't really have all the correct info, made several gallons and not knowing I needed to age it, dumped it after it tasted like arse after a few weeks of primary fermentation. Now I look back and want to kick myself in the butt for dumping...

1-2 gallon ferment in 6 gallon bucket ok?

Yeah...that is probably a better option. I did forget I have a bunch of glass gallon cider jugs with stoppers too...but I'd like to have a little more head room just in case...I guess I could do a little less than a gallon in each jug to be safe...but I'll probably just grab the 2 gallon...

1-2 gallon ferment in 6 gallon bucket ok?

It's been a while since I've brewed. Didn't have the best luck first go around. I think I went too big too soon and just wasn't equipped and ready for a 5 gallon brew. So I want to try again, this time keeping it to a 1 or 2 gallon brew. I think my equipment is better suited for a small...

    Hot and spicy Ginger Beer

Sounds good. I think I might make another batch tonight and let it ferment rather than just carbonate and see how that turns out.

Belgian Golden Strong Ale Pink Elephant (Delirium Tremens clone)

Getting ready to try this. Maybe tonight. For those that get yeast samples from actual bottles of DT, or any other beer for that matter, what's the process? Just save the last inch or so of beer and make a starter from that?

    Hot and spicy Ginger Beer

Yeah, I thought about trying it again and letting it ferment with a air lock for a week and see how that turns out.

    Show Us Your Label

Not sure about the lettering, but this is the label I'll be using on my Delirium Tremens clone I'll be brewing next week...

    Hot and spicy Ginger Beer

I don't release the pressure. Just straight into the fridge. I am finding it takes less than 24 hours so keep an eye on it. Not sure alcohol content, never checked it but there is zero alcohol taste so if there is any, it's a very small amount.

    Hot and spicy Ginger Beer

Disappointed in the commercial ginger sodas, I have set out to do my own. I think I have it close to what I am looking for. I thought I'd share even though it's not that different from what others are doing. This is for 2 liters: 7oz fresh grated ginger Zest and juice from 1/2 lemon Zest...

If you like it hot...Ginger Beer (non-alcoholic)

So where can one find these ingredients?

    Easy Ginger Ale

Could you use EZ-cap bottles or PET bottles? That way you could de-pressurize them from time to time in the fridge. Maybe carbonate in a large 2L or 3L bottle then transfer to smaller bottles. I am interested in this cause my brother LOVES ginger ale but most of the commercial stuff sux and this...

Heading to the home brew shop in the morning...Boddingtons clone?

Thanks both of you. I did read that it's hard/nearly impossible to get that same creamy beer that comes from the can in a home brew, but I also read that Boddingtons on tap is quite different than in the can as well, for the better even. Not sure. I'd love to try it. I'm not set on doing a...

Heading to the home brew shop in the morning...Boddingtons clone?

Need to grab a few goodies for my first bottling...auto siphon and bucket with a spigot...I thought I might as well grab the stuff for another brew. Thinking hard about doing a Boddingtons style pub ale. Just wondering if someone could help point me towards a tried and true recipe? I plan on...

    First brew in the fermenter!!!

Fermentation is done. FG is 1.012 which according to the calculator is right on point. I tasted the beer and it's a bit strong in the alcohol taste and not much else at the moment. I'm leaving it until Friday when I can get into the home brew shop to get a auto siphon and new bottling bucket...
