Yes, as the berries were thawing I put them in a colander (sanitized) and lightly sprayed them with star san. Then tossed them a little to spread it all around and rinsed with a little spring water I bought. Then mashed them up in my brew pot (also sanitized) and poured them in the carboy. I had...
Haha thanks for the help, it's for the lady so I thought I'd go all out with the blueberries...and they were only $2.50/lb to pick them. I thought about making wine but I'm not patient enough for that!

I racked 5 gallons of blonde ale onto 10 pounds of mashed fresh picked blueberries last night. When I woke up this morning all the berries had already come up top and the beer had turned to a great looking purple color, and has been bubbling like crazy all day. There's also a lot of foam on too...
Would it be a bad idea to stir the blueberries back into the carboy when I switch from a blowoff tube to airlock? I racked on top of 10 lbs last night and mixed it in (tons of bubbles came up to the top, I'm guessing it was CO2) and all the berries were sitting at the top this morning.
Any idea what kind of grains I could substitute for the LME? My local shop only sells that stuff in 30 pound jugs and I'm not looking to spend $60 for a jug I probably won't ever finish. I'm new to this too, this will only be my 2nd brew.
I know this post is pretty old, but if you see this could you help me out with some advice for the recipe as a partial mash? I've read that the general rule is to use 2/3 the amount of grains as a DME but I'm not sure which grains to switch out (if it even matters).
This is my first batch...
