    Malt Cola Beer

Cheerwine is pretty similar to cola. I was once taken with the fantasy of having Cheerwine mead. So, I took two 2L bottles of Cheerwine and shook them and burped the cap over and over until the fizz was gone. (No boiling) I added honey equivalent to 5% alcohol after fermentation (about 10 fluid...

    Malolactic Fermentaion in Juice Alone

Yeah, those are my thoughts. Although, I think there must be some nutrients the O. oeni needs that the juice alone doesn't have. Maybe aminos in dead yeast cells or the like.

How do you get foam in a root beer?

One thing I've noticed. It seems like the longer I let my primed bottles age, the more substantial the head. Of course, the yeast will consume all of your sweetness unless you use an un-fermentable sweetener. I could be way off base here. I've never tested it, and there are a lot of factors...

    Malolactic Fermentaion in Juice Alone

I hope this is the best place for this thread. I'm relatively new here. Been searching and reading for a while but this is only my second post. If a moderator knows a better forum, I'm not at all opposed to my post being moved to where it belongs. Thanks in advance for that consideration...

    Question About Naming

What do you call a mead made with a particular variety of honey? Like a mead with herbs is a metheglin or with fruit, a melomel. I'm making some labels for a mead I made with orange blossom honey. The only thing I've found is show mead, but that's more a descriptor, not a name. I would...

    First post

Hi. I've been trolling this sight for a little over a year now. I don't think I've made a post yet. There's so much info available most of my questions get answered with a little light reading. Also, I had been getting Internet on a phone that's nowhere near smart. I could really only...
