    I just transferred a chocolate coffee stout to the secondary ferment. I soaked a vanilla bean for three days in vodka. My OG was 1.054, The gravity when I transferred to the secondary was 1.01. Will the Vodka bean in the secondary change my final gravity much? Has anyone done this method...

    I too live in St. Charles and love the Home brew store in town. It is an easy drive from where you are, I would say about a 45 minute drive. The staff are friendly and are really helpful. I do not know if you have a co2 tank, but there is a place near by thar will re fill rather than exchange...

    Dry Hop?

    I never even considered the percentages. That is something I will keep in mind here on out. Thanks for the advice. I believe that I put the first of the hops in at boil, then at 15, 30, then every 10 mins. So I did end up using all the hops.

    Thanks for the advice. I used a recipe out of the Brookland homebrew book. It was for a Simcoe IPA, it required 3oz of simcoe hops during a 60min boil adding a 1/6 of the simcoe every 15mins.
